Across the country, the long-serving copper telephone lines are being replaced with full fibre connections. Eventually, nearly all phone and broadband services will be provided by fibre all the way from homes to the serving exchanges, but there is a significant volume of these works underway now.
The works are being undertaken by numerous fibre operators, not just BT Openreach. Sometime there is limited impact on local communities when existing infrastructure such as ducts can be used, but in other cases there can be a need for invasive civils works which can be quite disruptive.
If you face any issues with fibre works or you have concerns about works in progress you can contact the Fibre Liaison Officer, Mark Burgess at Mark.Burgess@Oxfordshire.gov.uk or by phone on 07449 231683
